Crusader Kings II: Charlemagne is a Single-player/Multiplayer game which is the Seventh expansion of Crusader Kings II: Charlemagne. You can create new Kingdoms and Empires based on your current kingdom with same name and flag.
It still crashes at the part of the painting when loading up, can we get an update for the most recent version of the game. (and yes I have rolled back my game to 3.0.1.1, nor do i have any other mods active at all just this one on its own). Then i downloaded the 'A Game of Thrones' mod for ck2. However every time i start the game it begins to load and as the bar fills it crashes. I originally downloaded the 1.6.1 version and the problem happened. I then upgraded to the 1.7.1 and the problem persisted. I have no idea what is causing this and have tried a few methods on how to fix.

So, first off I've been a huge fan of the mod for a couple years now. Usually with my campaigns if I don't get bored of it, I stop playing when it starts to crash consistently. This normally happens somewhere around 300-400 years or more of play. I resign myself to the fact that the campaign has been going on long enough anyways and figure things tend to destabilize as time goes on. Well now I have the same problem in two different campaigns after only about 100 years. This has been frustrating, and I've been searching all over the place to find a solution to no avail. I have the most recent version of the mod and am running it with CK2 Version 2.7.1.So, here's what happens. I have yearly autosave on and after a certain point it crashes consistently on autosave. It does not successfully make the autosave and so only an olderAutosave file exists. Things I've tried:
1. Saving on December 31, editing the save and changing it to January 1 the next year. Upon load it works, but when it reaches the next year it crashes on autosave again.
2. Changing autosave to half-yearly, it again crashes on the save that happens for January 1.
3. Disabling autosave all together. The game continued to run for a time but then crashed at a random date.

4. Going back to the oldest autosave. In the second save it worked sort of. I keep going for a bit, then crashed at a random date.
The first campaign was Aegon start and conquering Essos to become Emperor of New Valyria. Everything is going well until about 115 years in when the problem started. This is when I did most of the troubleshooting. Interestingly enough, both in this campaign and the other it started happening soon after a new character inherited. After a lot of trouble I gave up, hoping to be able to play again maybe with a new version of the mod. I used no submods in this campaign.
The second campaign I decided to try a Century of Blood game. I also enabled the Bloodlines mod, which is supposed to be fine with version 1.5. I play as Aurion and go through his whole thing and become Emperor of New Valyria. This time the same problem starts occurring 92 years in. I tried the same stuff as the last one and it was a no go. My checksum for this save was JYSK.
I have Visual Studios on my computer and so with the crashes at a random date I was given an option to debug. The majority of the crashes were straight CTD with no error message but the ones that did give an error message gave me the option. I figure maybe I could find something through that. All it kept saying was Error Access Violation with a memory location. Screenshot: http://prntscr.com/h018um
